'Reception theory and gratification theory'
The people who will pick up the digipak to read it will be people who do it of there own accord because they themselves want to buy the digipak or they have seen it elsewhere like in another building or buying it as a gift for someone else. However in general the person will have picked up the digipak because they went out of there way to buy for them selves. This will make them an active audience. If the person has picked up the digipak because they want to see a picture or they picked it up accidentally because they saw some information they wanted to read, this would make them a passive audience.
In the digipak i want the person to have picked it because it will full fill there needs of what they want in the digipak not because they are victims of heavily influenced media.
In the digipak i want to use;
'Escape' this mean the audience will feel like they can escape from reality and let the music flow through them.
'Social interaction' This means the audience will create a personal relationship with the characters and words from song. e.g It will make conversation in the persons everyday life.'Itentify' The audience will connect themselves with the song or the video of the song. e.g they relate themselves to the lyrics or they like a particular style of the characters from the video do they want to change themselves to be more the them.
'Entertain' This means that the audience will have chose the digipak for there own entertainment purposes.
All of this will influence my planning of the digipak because i will need to go into a lot more detail than what i have done so far to be able to achieve all of this in my digipak.
