Intertextuality
Intertextuality is the interrelationship between texts. It refers to the way a text is shaped by other texts or stories.It is also explained as the way in which one media text is refereed to another.
Some examples of intertextuality are;
Taylor Swifts song 'Love story'
This song is an example of intertexuality because they video has been made to look like the way 'romeo and Juleittes' story is. Taylor swift is wearing a ball gown like how Juliette was in the story. The video itself is made to look like a modernised version of the story relating to the lyrics.
Lady Gaga's song
'Papperazzi'

The video includes newspaper articles and headlines throughout the video. This is a form of intertextuality because a form of media, in this case the paparazzi, is influencing the way the video has been made.
'Material girl' by Madonna
is another good example of this. Madonna is dressed as Marilyn Monroe, The famous curvey blonde who was known for being an American singer, actress and model, and major sex symbol of the 1950s and 1960s. In the video Madonna is dressed as Monroe acting popular and making it looks like everyone loves her.
